Seagals

Seagals is an inter-club competition among eight clubs which play once a month from October to April. Seagals mission is to promote competitive golf in an atmosphere of friendship and goodwill.  Each Seagals team consists of five 2-person teams (10 players).  The format is match play – one net best ball of the two-person team.   There is a total of 18 points (1 point per hole, ½ point for ties) for the match.  The points are cumulative and the club with the most points at the end of the season is the winner.  

Any member of GHWGA with an 18-hole index may sign up for each match.  Email invitations are sent to all WGA members. The maximum course handicap cannot exceed 27.0, however, a player may carry a higher course handicap but will be play at a 27 handicap.   If more than ten players sign up, the coordinators choose the team and alternates. Alternates play if a team member is unable to play due to illness, etc.   

The entry fee (usually $75) is the responsibility of each team member, paid to GHWGA prior to the competition. The fee covers the cost of golf and a luncheon at the host course.  Every two years the Grand Haven team orders uniforms, but uniforms are not mandatory to be a member of the team.
