Four-Ball Tournament

Contact:  Lynn Lefler

The 4-Ball tournament is an optional season-long match play tournament played by 2-person teams. Team handicaps determine flights; partners handicaps must be within 10 strokes of one another, otherwise the higher handicap player will be adjusted.

Each team competes against teams in their flight (typically 4 or 5 teams per flight) on days/times deemed mutually convenient for all 4 players.  All play is net and handicap strokes are allocated based on the lowest handicap player in the 4-some. The low net score of each team determines the winner of each hole: 1 point for a win, ½ point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.  The total points in each match equal 18; teams accumulate points for each match played during the season. Prizes go to the 1st and 2nd place winners in each flight.

Sign up on Golf Genius in September.  Matches can begin as soon as teams and flights are established.  Players post scores upon completion of each match on a score sheet located in the Women’s Locker Room.  Matches must be completed by April 15th.   The entry fee is $25, payable to GHWGA and must be paid before matches begin. Prizes are awarded at the GHWGA Closing Day.
